Terms & Conditions
Andrew Bough & Associates Ltd
Our service and what you can expect from us
We want you to understand how our service works and what you can expect when you request a Private Medical Insurance quotation or ask us to arrange cover.
These Terms & Conditions explain the basis on which we provide our insurance broking services.
1. About us
Andrew Bough & Associates Ltd is an insurance intermediary authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Firm Reference Number: 586834 We arrange Private Medical Insurance for individuals, families and businesses. Our FCA status and regulatory information can be checked through the Financial Services Register.
2. Our service
We provide a non-advised insurance broking service. This means that we do not provide a personal recommendation as to which insurance policy you should purchase. Instead, we provide information about available Private Medical Insurance products and help you understand the features, options and costs available to you, so that you can make your own informed decision. Where appropriate, we can explain differences between the options available, including levels of cover, excesses, exclusions and other significant features. The decision to purchase a policy remains yours.
3. Requesting a quotation
When you complete one of our online quotation forms, we use the information you provide to understand what type of Private Medical Insurance you are looking for. We may use this information to approach relevant insurers and obtain quotations or information about available cover. A quotation will be based on the information provided and the insurer's applicable underwriting criteria, rates and terms. Submitting a quotation request does not mean that you have applied for or purchased insurance.
4. Information you provide
You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide to us is accurate, complete and up to date. This is particularly important where information is used by an insurer to assess your eligibility for cover or determine your premium. If information is incomplete or inaccurate, this may affect the quotation offered, the insurer's underwriting decision or the validity of a policy.
5. Insurance quotations
Any quotation we provide is subject to the terms, conditions, underwriting requirements and acceptance of the relevant insurer. A quotation may change if: information provided is incorrect or incomplete; the insurer requires additional information; the insurer's underwriting assessment changes; the insurer changes its rates or terms; or circumstances change before the policy is put in force. A quotation is not confirmation that insurance cover is in force.
6. Applying for and arranging cover
If you decide to proceed with a quotation, we will explain the next steps required to arrange the policy. The insurance contract is between you and the insurer. Your cover will only begin when the insurer has accepted the application and confirmed that the policy is in force, subject to the terms of that policy. The insurer's policy documentation will set out the full terms, conditions, exclusions, limitations and benefits applicable to your cover.
7. How we are paid
We are remunerated by commission from the insurer. We do not charge you a separate fee for arranging your Private Medical Insurance unless we specifically tell you otherwise before you incur any charge. Our commission is paid by the insurer and is generally included within the premium you pay for your insurance. The amount and basis of commission may vary between insurers and products. For commercial customers, information about our commission can be provided on request in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. The FCA's ICOBS 4.3 rules require insurance intermediaries to disclose the nature and type of remuneration before conclusion of the contract.
8. Your insurance policy
Once your policy has been arranged, your insurance contract is with the relevant insurer. The insurer is responsible for: assessing and accepting your application; determining the terms and conditions of your cover; providing your policy documentation; assessing and paying valid claims; and dealing with matters relating to the operation of your insurance contract. We can assist you with your insurance arrangements and provide ongoing support where we continue to act as your broker.
9. Renewals
Where we continue to act as your insurance broker, we will normally contact you before your policy renewal to discuss your renewal options. Insurance premiums and policy terms can change at renewal. We will explain the options available to you and help you arrange your chosen cover.

We collect and use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains: what information we collect; why we collect it; how we use it; who we may share it with; how we protect it; and your rights regarding your personal information.
